The idea of “work‑life balance” has failed women for decades. It assumes that life can be neatly divided, perfectly managed, and evenly distributed — a standard that is unrealistic and often guilt‑inducing.

Workplace bias is often subtle, systemic, and deeply ingrained — which is why so many women feel it long before they can name it. Bias shows up in interrupted speech, assumptions about competence, unequal opportunities, and the invisible labour women carry in teams.

Women are conditioned to believe that we must be flawless before we can be visible. We polish, prepare, overthink, rehearse — and still feel like we’re not quite “there yet.”
